Noel Sparkle & Shine Christmas Card

Noel!

Today I made my second Christmas card for this year.

I used the papers from the Sparkle & Shine paper packet

featured in the Close To My Heart

mini catalog, "Holidays from the Heart Gift Guide."

It doesn't look anything like my first Christmas card

That's the fun of these CTMH papers and embellishments --

each creation looks different!

The card's base is a 6 x 6 inch Kraft card from CTMH.

For the dimensional poinsettia, I used the Artiste Cricut cartridge

to cut the flower die cuts and also the Noel title.

I layered four flower die cuts, and attached them with a sparkle brad.

I free-hand cut the leaves and tucked them underneath.

The white poinsettia is from a retired Mistletoe embellishment packet.

The burlap strip is cut from a length of CTMH's burlap ribbon.

I scanned a Christmas carol book page 
and then printed "The First Noel" onto colonial white cardstock

and trimmed the music to fit the card front.

Inside the card, I layered the Merry Christmas stamped sentiment

on a strip of Sparkle & Shine patterned paper,

and added a small pointsettia and sparkle brad

to the corner.

My inspiration in making this card came from 

a card (see below) created by CTMH Consultant, Sandy Trammel,

which she shared on the Scattered Hearts facebook group page.

Advent Box

About 5 years ago, I bought this Advent Box Kit (made by Making Memories Inc.) at a clearance sale in a discount store. I wish had I had found many more of them to make! I made this early in the Fall, and it was so simple and fun, I'd make more for friends' families if I had the kits. If anyone knows where I might find them, please contact me! (The only things I added to this one are the Mistletoe Flowers from Close To My Heart.) Meanwhile, I'm going to be scouring the discount stores with my eyes wide open.

Close To My Heart has an Advent Calendar Box available (Autumn/Winter Idea Book, page 67) and I'm going to try that project soon.

If you've made one of those, I'd love to hear your comments about CTMH's kit!

Meanwhile, I'm deciding what surprise treats to put into each of these little boxes for special children!

Another Mistletoe Clear Card

Listening to Christmas music ... creating cards ... watching the leaves blow across the yards ... so glad to be inside with my hot chocolate!

Mistletoe Clear Card

Here's one of the many clear cards I've made so far -- loving the new CTMH Mistletoe papers and embellishments. And I ALWAYS love Christmasy colors!

More to come ... I must get out and enjoy the 70 degrees while it lasts ... a blustery cold front is coming our way!

Update: Blogger just let me upload the second photo showing the card's inside sentiment. AND we're under a tornado watch! Such weird, crazy weather we're having in the Midwest. But I'll take it, compared to the snowy areas I've been seeing on the newscasts. I'm NOT ready for winter. I AM thankful to have warm winter fleece-lined boots. So in a small way, I am ready. Or not.
