Life Delights Cards

Butterflies are a symbol of new life, so I decided to use the Life Delights paper for a sympathy card as well as for a birthday card. I just love the peaceful colors and prints in this CTMH paper packet.

The Prisma glitter on the birthday card ribbon was to pick up on the flourishes in the butterfly paper, but I need more practice with glitter. The butterfly pieces on each card are pop-dotted to give dimension (which doesn't show well in the photos).

It's a great night to create in my warm, cozy scrap room while the winter wind blows the sleet down on our corner of the world. When I craft and listen to Christmas carols, I couldn't be happier.

If my kids were still at home, they'd be listening for school closings right now & praying to be able to sleep late in the morning!

Friends Are Treasures

A friend loves at all times. Proverbs 17:17

Two of my dear friends (we all belonged to the same church for quite a few years) met me at a new coffee house, "Common Grounds," where we celebrated my birthday recently. The good company, the time spent together, and the peppermint tea all warmed my heart and soul. Thank you, Linda and Sandy, and God bless you!

Another dear friend (from our current church) and I had lunch together in the quaint river town of Kimmswick. We ate dessert FIRST, talked so long, laughed so much, and we closed up the restaurant. Thank you, Elaine, for spending our November birthday time together, and God bless you!

Each one of you has helped me more than you know in my faith development and my life journey--I thank the Lord for you all.

Now remember, we can and need to keep the celebrations going, but girlfriends, I'm at my speed limit.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

An inch of snow fell overnight to make the view so pretty from the inside! As the carols play, I've been decorating inside, and here's a peek at the quilted hangings and placemats that make the season bright at our home. They were lovingly stitched by my sister, mom, and other special people in my life. I'm stitching a new tree skirt that may or may not be ready for this season's tree. We'll see how fast my fingers will fly.
