This "experiment" card was both fun and easier than I expected. I saw an embossing/glittering technique on the Splitcoast Stampers site and decided to give it a whirl -- or a spin -- with the brayer which I so seldom use. Now I'm definitely hooked.
To create the textured layer, I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the white cardstock with the snowflakes and stars folder. I rolled the brayer with a very thin layer of Stardust glitter glue and applied it to the embossed cardstock. I used a paintbrush to brush away the glitter that stayed on the flat areas. (You need very little glitter glue on your brayer to get the best design.)
To assemble the card, I started with a white card base, added the dark blue with the star-punched bottom border (Martha S), layered the white embossed piece on top, then added the blue scalloped and the white Noel punched circles with foam squares. I attached the sheer white ribbon before adhering the blue to the card base.
Thanks for visiting my blog and seeing what's keeping me crafty-happy!
