Happy Thanksgiving!

Each day is a day for thanks-living, wouldn't you agree?

Tomorrow is the designated, proclaimed national day of Thanksgiving in the USA. Will tomorrow be any different than any other day? Maybe you'll have a turkey or goose or venison on your dinner platter, along with special side dishes from family recipes and traditional pumpkin, cherry, apple, and mincemeat pies too.

I'd be grateful no matter what "spread" was on our table as long as family and friends are together. One year when DH and I couldn't get through a snowstorm to be with any family members, we were happy to eat a bowl of Cheerios and listen to music and play Scrabble. Great memory!

Blogging, scrapping friends, I posted this clear card a while back but it seemed appropriate to include it in a Thanksgiving Day post. I'm grateful for you, for your visits to my blog, for your kind comments, and for our common interests. I pray that your Thanksgiving will be a blessed one, that you enjoy good health and safe travel.

If I could click my heels together like Dorothy did for a special wish, I'd wish to be together with my parents for Thanksgiving. Since we won't be traveling, I'm very grateful for cousins who will be sharing a Thanksgiving meal with Mom and Dad. And I'm grateful for our family members who will join us for dinner tomorrow, to give special thanks for all our blessings.

Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever! 1 Chronicles 16:34
 Happy, thanks-filled Thanksgiving!

May the Bounty of the Season

fill your hearts and home!

Happy Sunday! I hope it's a day of worship and rest for you. In our neck of the woods, it's beginning to look like time for a short color tour... a nice Sunday afternoon drive and maybe a Ted Drewes concrete along the way!

We may get a color peak in about a week, but for now it's just a little peek of golds.

Thanks for visiting & I'm grateful when you leave a comment!

Plant Smiles

"Plant Smiles ... Grow Laughs ... Harvest Love"

This is another clear card I made and scheduled to post before the Attack of the Fall Allergens here. I have a few more scheduled, and hopefully after those I'll be back in the groove and in the studio again. It gets depressing to not be able to do much without good eyesight. Oh, the things we take for granted! Thank You, Lord, for eye drops and allergy tablets and patient family members!

Thank you for visiting my blog and commenting. I so enjoy hearing from you!

With Gratitude

The Autumn colors are some of my very favorites! The Olivia paper packet has rich colors to choose from, and they go well with the Harvest Home MyAcrylix stamps. I used a variety of autumn ink colors and the blending pen to colorize the stamped image. (My watercoloring technique needs much improvement, as does my chronic dry eye situation. I've had another week of red/itching/tearing eyes with the high allergen counts. Leaf dust, be gone!)

The clear acrylic cards are fun to design. The more I make, the easier it gets to plan where to hide or show the stamped sentiment.

[The only non-CTMH item is the autumn gingham ribbon.]

Thanks for looking and leaving your comment!

Harvest Home Circle Card

It's almost Fall! And close to a full moon too. Weird things happen about this time. We're beginning to wonder if our house is a lightning magnet. It's the THIRD time now for our property to be struck.

We had a terrific thunderstorm go through last night. Along with almost 3 inches of rain in flash flooding, a bold of lightning hit our largest oak tree in the front yard. The trunk is damaged, but we hope to save it with a tree doctor's advice. Did I ever JUMP! See Jane. See Jane jump!

This morning we discovered none of our yard lights work, the garage door opener is fried, and our surround sound system is a gonner. Two circuit breakers were hit. The good thing is that our roof DOESN'T leak! Thank You, Lord.

I had just finished this "Harvest Home" card before turning everything off and heading to bed.

Tomorrow looks like it'll be a good Dontooning day at the lake after a call to our insurance company.

We're grateFUL.

I used:
Olivia paper packet, Harvest Home stamps, itty bitty brads, Autumn Terracotta & Garden Green inks, blending pen, circle card & envelope, chocolate ink for distressing edges

Olivia Card

The colors in the Olivia paper packet are so rich--barn reds, golds, greens, and oranges! It makes me like Autumn just a little bit better than I usually do!

Clear cards are fun to make--it just takes a little bit of planning to place the paper sections so that the adhesive doesn't show, and so that the inside sentiment is a surprise when the card is opened.  Even the back of the card is pretty with the double-sided peachy-colored leaf paper pattern showing through the acrylic.

With the recent rains and wind this week, our leaves are falling fast. The deck will need the leaf blower's magic when everything dries. For now, it's so nice to have the leaf dust settled. My nose appreciates that.

Happy weekend, and thanks for stopping by and leaving some love! If you haven't used clear card bases AND the new CTMH papers, what are you waiting for?

CTMH Clear Scalloped Card Base, Olivia papers, Barn Red ink, White Daisy Just Blooms, Autumn brads, front sentiment "The Present", inside sentiment "Notes of Prayer (Verve), CTMH sheer ribbon

Playing with Olivia Papers

"In everything, give thanks..."

That's so true!
It's another hot day in the Lou, and I'm spending it
in my Stu-di-o!

The Olivia papers are new in Close To My Heart's
Fall/Winter catalog -- what rich colors!
(This design and three more new designs
will be available to customers on September 1.)

They went well with the photos I used of Beatrice and me.
One of her many nicknames is Beaz Louise.
It's special that we share middle names.

I used:
CTMH Olivia Paper Packets Level 1 (background)
Level 2 for additional patterned paper pieces
Level 1 Stickease for title
Metal Foundry Flourishes (bronze flowers)
Colonial White buttons & ribbon
Sorbet Ric Rac
Pretty Pin
Computer journaling with Typewriter font

(Flip Flaps have since been added to the Memory Protector.
I can't live without 'em.)

Thanks for visiting and leaving some love!
