For Always Birthday Card -- Front & Back Stamping

After watching a CTMH video demonstrating the "front and back stamping" technique,
I gave it a whirl.

First I turned the stamp to the back side (flat side) and masked the top of the cupcake so that only the paper liner would show.  I stamped this in Honey and the shape came out evenly covered.

Second, I cleaned the stamp, then turned it over to the front side, and stamped the entire cupcake shape with Lagoon ink. That allowed me to see the cupcake paper "pleats" and also the icing.

Then I added a few sparkles to the icing.

I also used:
For Always patterned paper, Honey paper, Honey ink on the birthday sentiment,
and Baker's Twine

I think this card turned out sweeeeet! It was fun trying something new too!
It was a fun way to begin the NEW year!
Happy New Year, and Happy Creating!

A Mix of Old and New

The more I use CTMH's new Glitter papers, the more I LOVE them
and the way they make a project POP!

Here's a strip on the front and on the inside of a birthday card
combined with some retired Roxie papers
to give this some glitz and glam
for a special lady.

I like how the Glitz Glitter Gel in Almond
perfectly coordinates with the glitter paper too!

Now go and put some glitz into your scrapping soon!

Little Birthday Girl Goes To School

Friend Debbie loaned me one of her Cricut cartridges
(sorry, I don't remember its name)
to make this cute little blondie
with her balloons and ice cream cone.

One pigtail is missing a pink bow.
Yes, that's on purpose.
Because that's life with little E!
She's "all girl"
so that explains the skirt's eyelet.

I'm still in shock that she has begun
her Kindergarten school year.
And I'm saying many prayers of thanks
that she just loves her teacher,
her classmates, and her school so much already!

The only CTMH products I used are
the colored pencils and the silver glitz.
Basically it's a card made from scraps.
But what fun it was to make!

Passages Easel Card

When I saw this 30 key chain, I knew it had to go on a card front for a very special young man celebrating this milestone. (It'll be hand-delivered, so I wasn't concerned about the chain in the mail process.) The brushed nickel and the colors of CTMH's Passages papers are great together. I love using distressing tools, and got a lot of distressing into this card, along with edges inked, for a guy-look.

I used all CTMH products--gotta love 'em!

The easel card tutorial I used is from Splitcoaststampers.com You'll find tons of ideas there if you click on Resources.

BTW, I'm anxious to play with the new WINGS items next. What are they, you ask? Click on the January "Inspirations" button on the right side of my blog. The colors and stamps are gorgeous!

Happy weekend! Ours started with a temperature of ZERO this morning. Where are my Cuddle Duds?! A high of 19 degrees will be a good warm-up! How many days until Spring?
Happy weekend!

Felicity Card

Clear card front

Inside the card

We're getting the effects of Hermine today. Two inches of rain fell last night, and even more today, but we're happy since our grass, trees, and flowers all need the moisture.

It was a great day to play in the studio!
I love creating with the clear card bases from CTMH!

This birthday greeting is for a very special man who will soon celebrate his 89th birthday, God willing. He likes flowers and nature. And the Felicity paper colors & patterns are just perfect for this guy!

I learned to make the paper flower at the July Unit Meeting at Deb Butler's (my awesome upline) in Ohio!

I used: CTMH Clear Card base, Felicity* papers, Shimmer Gold brad (new fall item!), Nature's Ambience Chocolate Rub-on, "From Me to You" and "Cherish the Moment" stamps, Twilight and Autumn Terracotta inks

* the quality or state of being happy!

Cinco de Mayo Birthday Card

Happy birthday, Emily! And happy Cinqo de Mayo!
God and all His angels danced on the day you were born! Dad and I were thrilled, anxious, happy, scared, and so thankful on the day that we welcomed you into this big world.

So it's appropriate to make and send you this "dancin' Wiggles mama" card with all her glitzy jewelry and heels. (It's hard to see the sparkles on the shoes, bracelet, necklaces, and balloons but it's there, thanks to Prisma Glitter and Liquid Glass.) Gotta get it into the mail so it reaches you on your special day.

Many, many more happy birthdays to you, dear daughter! You sparkle and shine! Party hearty, safe and fun! We're glad YOU made Cinco de Mayo so extra special! We're so thankful for you and your family!

{I used the CTMH Felicity paper packet, an 8 x 3 1/2 inch folded card size from Colonial White card stock, vellum, waxy flax, Liquid Glass, & Prisma Glitter}

A Two Card Night

Elizabeth, Linda, & Sandy--Sunday scrappin' friends

This afternoon three friends came over to scrapbook and make cards. We enjoyed the leisurely day and our time spent together! Linda and Sandy made cards while Elizabeth worked on scrapbook pages. Here are two cards I made this evening using Unforgettable (happy birthday card) and Sweet Pea (baby card). The bird's body and its wing are stamped, cut, and popped up with foam squares.

I adapted ideas I found in the new Wishes book by Jeanette Lynton. What a fantastic resource!

I'd keep going with the paper, cutter, and glue, but my eyes say "rest!"

I thank the Lord for my dear friends and for the time He gives us to be together doing such a fun hobby, sharing our prayer requests, and uplifting one another!

Happy new week, and God's blessings!

Fancy Cut Botanicals Floral Bouquet Birthday Card

When I saw a "floral bouquet card" on SCS's site by Jennifer D, I knew I had to try a design of my own. Hers inspired me...but mine is definitely different in quite a few ways.

The most time consuming part was calculating the cutting for the pot and for the card sentiment pull-out insert so that I used only ONE 12 x 12 inch cardstock. I used my MS lacy border punch and wired ribbon from M's. Everything else is from CTMH. My personal note and signature will go on the back of the pull-out insert.

I decided to use the heart stamps to serve as the leaves. This card is for a lovely, nearly 92-year old friend whose birthday is coming up soon. She won't have to water or fresh-cut these flowers for them to last a while.

Maybe my second attempt will take me less time--it's that first baby original that takes the hardest push!

BTW, if you left me a kind, complimentary comment and it doesn't show up here, it's because I re-posted the photos, and then oops! everything disappeared! Oh, my! So sorry! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for looking and commenting!

Unforgettable Gift Set

I used the CTMH "Unforgettable" Level 2 Paper Packet, Stickease, Fancy Cut Botanicals, Clear Sparkles, Sassy Strands, Square Window Charm, and a lot of Liquid Glass for these items--Close To My Heart's Memory Keeper Box, 9 x 9 inch accordion album, and birthday card.

Colors of papers and inks are Juniper, Sorbet, and Cocoa. Stamps are from the sets of Adorning Corners, Say It In Style, and Special Friendship. Ribbon is Sheer Elegance. The card design is a template in CTMH CEO Jeanette Lynton's Originals book.

This is a good example of how easy, fun, and simple CTMH products are to use!
