For Always Birthday Card -- Front & Back Stamping

After watching a CTMH video demonstrating the "front and back stamping" technique,
I gave it a whirl.

First I turned the stamp to the back side (flat side) and masked the top of the cupcake so that only the paper liner would show.  I stamped this in Honey and the shape came out evenly covered.

Second, I cleaned the stamp, then turned it over to the front side, and stamped the entire cupcake shape with Lagoon ink. That allowed me to see the cupcake paper "pleats" and also the icing.

Then I added a few sparkles to the icing.

I also used:
For Always patterned paper, Honey paper, Honey ink on the birthday sentiment,
and Baker's Twine

I think this card turned out sweeeeet! It was fun trying something new too!
It was a fun way to begin the NEW year!
Happy New Year, and Happy Creating!

Lovely For Always

I made this card for a special woman in our church family
who continually shows her servant heart
to everyone around her.
She is simply lovely
for always.

I used:

Ghirardelli Filled Purses

Happy National Teachers' Week! Happy National Nurses' Week! Happy Name the Baby Elephant Week! Happy Hummingbirds Return Week! Happy Pickles on Peanut Butter Sandwiches Week! Happy everything!

These pretty "For Always" (the gray & black on the one on left) and "Dream Pop" papers (three on the right) make me feel happy all the time.

Four special teachers are going to get these, and each one holds a few Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares just perfectly. Everybody needs a little dark chocolate with raspberry filling in her life.

The CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge cuts the little 5 inch purse shapes. I used the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the floral shapes. For the closure tabs, I used a variety of CTMH embellishments. It's so much fun to use the pretty shimmer tape and the washi tape! Velcro dots hold the closure tabs securely.

Hope your week, however you label it and celebrate it, is full of fun and celebration!

For Always -- It's a Promise

It's the season for weddings and here's a card design that just might make a happy couple smile even bigger. (Especially if you attach a gift card to the back of the tri-fold shutter card!)

This features the new For Always paper packet from Close To My Heart. In it you'll find a variety of black & white romantic prints as well as a few bright cardstock sheets. For this card, I used a different cardstock in a truer blue to coordinate with the couple's wedding colors.

Do you like the contemporary look of the polka dot ribbon, along with all the prints on the papers and the paper butterflies? I think they will!

You might choose to use a sheer ribbon bow. See below.

Or you could leave a bow completely off. However you like it!  See next photo.

The stamped "Love" and the double hearts are from the sets "Roxie WOTG" and "Heartthrob." I stamped using Versamark and then heat-embossed them using white embossing powder. I realized I need a new brush to remove all those extra powder particles. Oops.

Those cute butterflies on top of cardstock-punched butterflies are CTMH's "Flutter Paper Shapes." Tiny blue butterflies flutter along the black and white paper border saying, "Everyone says you only fall in love once, but that's not true, because every time I see you, I fall in love all over again."  These were punched from a M-S punch.

Butterflies have tiny Licorice Opaques on their bodies.

This is one of my favorite card designs! The next one coming up will have a Mother's Day sentiment and it's also a tri-shutter design.

I'm glad you stopped by -- please leave a short comment. Tell me which bow is your favorite on this card!
