Heart 2 Heart -- Sharing My Favorite Technique

(double click to enlarge picture)

This week the H2H challenge is "Our Favorite Techniques" and it's exciting to see all the very special techniques the participants are using and sharing in their paper art!

I have SO MANY favorite techniques, and always appreciate learning new ones from my CTMH friends! So thank you, one and all!

I used the 3-D stamping technique to create this card for a teacher who is retiring after 40 years of teaching service! That long stretch in itself is so awesome, but in addition, he has served with DELIGHT and his students all know and appreciate that quality and commitment from him!

For a manly card, I chose Twitterpated papers and the chocolate and sorbet colors in addition to the touch of blue. I used the "Delight in Everything" CTMH stamp set. (Inside left, I used a Verve Scripture sentiment.)

To achieve a 3-D stamping effect, simply stamp first with the White Pigment ink. I stamped on the B&T paper oval. Let dry thoroughly. Clean the MyAcrylix stamps with a baby wipe. I used a hairdryer to ensure complete dryness.

Then stamp slightly off, for a shadow effect, with an ink color -- I chose Sorbet to go with the card's background color.

I chose not to stamp the stems twice, since I like them simple, the way they are in white.

To make the stamped flowers pop, I added itty bitty opaque pearls.

This is a very easy technique to use when you just want to enhance a card with some shadow-looking effects!

Check out ALL the awesome techniques at the Heart 2 Heart Challenges! You'll LOVE what you find there!

Twitterpated Display Album

I've been working on a Close To My Heart display album for a baby shower gift. I'm using Twitterpated paper packets and the coordinating Stickease,
along with coordinating ribbons--a natural pick
for the nature-loving family.
This matches the "for baby" card posted previously.

Here are some sample pages.
The album begins with "The Day You Were Born"
and then each following page is a designated "month" milestone,
ending with the 12 month "happy birthday" page
on the back inside cover.
The parents can add their baby's milestone photos
and their comments/memories to the monthly pages that flip.

A new baby is always God's sign that He wants His world to continue!
This baby has been anxiously awaited and will be dearly welcomed.
Her parents will teach her of God's love and of the importance
of caring for His beautiful world.
I'm looking for a special verse for the back of the album.
So...there's always more work to do, a happy, fun work,
from my heart to your hands.

A photo of the finished product is to come,
bedecked with lottsa ribbons along the top!
A girl hasta have some ribbons!

So please check back in a few days!

Twitterpated For Baby

A friend's daughter's baby shower is coming up.
This is the card in earthy colors since they are her choice for the
"nature lover's nursery." The display album for the new little baby girl's
first year of photos will showcase these papers too,
along with rabbits, deer, owls, and more mushrooms.
I LOVE new babies! AND new grandmas too!

Thanks for taking a look!
I used:
Twitterpated papers & Stickease; CTMH inks; Liquid Glass; Sorbet ribbon
Not CTMH: MS border punch & pink paper

Twitterpated

First--here's "Feelin' the power" heading for the LO showing DD Bethany using the leaf blower on the deck ...

We have to do this a couple times a day lately. The leaves are falling fast.

Hope to see some pretty color this next week if the rain doesn't beat all the leaves off the trees.

Second--two Twitterpated cards ...

Close To My Heart Stickease makes card making so fun and simple. And it's a great alternative to stamping, especially while my eyes are not quite up to little detail work.

And Third--a Twitterpated bookmark using more cardstock and Stickease ...
Here's my first attempt at machine stitching on cardstock. HELP! I can't blame this funny zig (NOT) zag look on my poor eyes. Could it be the tension? (the machine's...not mine!)
If you're a paper crafting stitcher and have any hints for me, send them my way, 'cause I'm gonna keep trying and get this right! I love sewing, and wish I had tried this long ago! I'm grabbing the challenge.
Actually, I think I've come up with a really unique ziggity skippity zaggity look without even trying!
Happy Twitterpating weekend!
