Merry & Bright Christmas Card Duo

Card 1 from the Merry & Bright Christmas Card Workshop at Rebecca's house...
I adapted the design to include my favorite Christmas stamps
on the front and in the inside.

Noel Sparkle & Shine Christmas Card

Noel!
Today I made my second Christmas card for this year.
I used the papers from the Sparkle & Shine paper packet
featured in the Close To My Heart
mini catalog, "Holidays from the Heart Gift Guide."
(To see the Holidays catalog, click here.)

It doesn't look anything like my first Christmas card
I made last week with Sparkle & Shine!
(You can see it here.)

That's the fun of these CTMH papers and embellishments --
each creation looks different!

The card's base is a 6 x 6 inch Kraft card from CTMH.
For the dimensional poinsettia, I used the Artiste Cricut cartridge
to cut the flower die cuts and also the Noel title.
I layered four flower die cuts, and attached them with a sparkle brad.
I free-hand cut the leaves and tucked them underneath.
The white poinsettia is from a retired Mistletoe embellishment packet.
The burlap strip is cut from a length of CTMH's burlap ribbon.
I scanned a Christmas carol book page
and then printed "The First Noel" onto colonial white cardstock
and trimmed the music to fit the card front.

Inside the card, I layered the Merry Christmas stamped sentiment
on a strip of Sparkle & Shine patterned paper,
and added a small pointsettia and sparkle brad
to the corner.
My inspiration in making this card came from
a card (see below) created by CTMH Consultant, Sandy Trammel,
which she shared on the Scattered Hearts facebook group page.
Thank you for inspiring me, Sandy!
Happy scrapping, everyone!

It's Time to Sparkle & Shine!

The new Sparkle & Shine papers
from Close To My Heart's "Holidays from the Heart" gift guide
are so pretty and versatile!

I added strips of shimmer trim between the die cut ornament layers
for extra sparkle ...

Remember to add a surprise INSIDE your cards too!
More sparkle is layered here on top of a strip of the patterned paper.

I left the inside empty to attach a family photo.
How many of these will I be able to finish before December 10,
the date circled on my calendar to "get cards mailed at the P.O.!" ?

Now--just a reminder--here's the new mini catalog that went live October 15
and you can order from it through December 31st.

When you order $100 or more in retail items from
this new Holidays from the Heart mini catalog,
you'll be able to choose a free "starred item" in the booklet.

Have fun making beautiful Christmas cards, layouts,
and dimensional home art projects too!

Christmas in the Heart--Christmas in the Air

I used Pear and Partridge papers from Close To My Heart to make "banner strips" cards--a variety of three cards here, each a bit different.

I was inspired by the banner strip card designed by Karen Day, shown here:

Thanks for stopping by to look!

Clear Acrylic Christmas Card

I used:
CTMH Clear Acrylic Square Card Base
(How I LOVE making clear cards! Oh, that our windows would be so clear and bright!
I'm hoping CTMH will bring back more clear card bases...not many are left right now on the Clearance List)

Evensong papers
Sparkles
Mistletoe pewter brad
Christmas "Prince of Peace" stamps
Cranberry ink

Don't you just love these colors?

I hope you enjoyed a Thanksgiving week full of thanks-living, and that you do the same EVERY day.

"In everything, give thanks."

Jingle All the Way

The colors in the Jingle paper packet have always been my favorites -- and the Baker's Twine seemed to be a natural complement to the gift boxes' designs and colors.

So simple. Paper strips. Adhesive. Baker's Twine. Sparkles. And a couple favorite stamps and inks too--Juniper and Tulip.

It's "jingle all the way" with Christmas music playing in StudioJane as I use some of my scraps and stay warm inside.

Glad you stopped by!

Embossed and Glittered NOEL Card

This "experiment" card was both fun and easier than I expected. I saw an embossing/glittering technique on the Splitcoast Stampers site and decided to give it a whirl -- or a spin -- with the brayer which I so seldom use. Now I'm definitely hooked.

To create the textured layer, I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the white cardstock with the snowflakes and stars folder. I rolled the brayer with a very thin layer of Stardust glitter glue and applied it to the embossed cardstock. I used a paintbrush to brush away the glitter that stayed on the flat areas. (You need very little glitter glue on your brayer to get the best design.)

To assemble the card, I started with a white card base, added the dark blue with the star-punched bottom border (Martha S), layered the white embossed piece on top, then added the blue scalloped and the white Noel punched circles with foam squares. I attached the sheer white ribbon before adhering the blue to the card base.

Thanks for visiting my blog and seeing what's keeping me crafty-happy!

Pear and Partridge with Glitter Rub-ons:

Clear card front and inside:

I've really liked the colors and patterns in the Pear and Partridge paper packet!
I used the Cranberry and Olive inks along with one of my favorite CTMH Christmas stamp sets.

And next up will be some Christmas gift tags.

Pear & Partridge Card

                                                                           card front

                                                                             inside card

Happy AUGUST!

What better way to spend another triple-digit-temperature day than to create some Christmas cards using NEW papers from Close To My Heart?!

And here's my first one using the new Pear & Partridge Papers -- I'm lovin' these colors!

Here's my "recipe" for this ivory card base that's 5 x 6.5 inches:

Green rectangle: 4.5 x 6 inches
Striped rectangle: 1.5 x 6 inches
Ivory rectangle: 3.5 x 3 inches
Pear & Partridge rectangle: 3 x 5 inches

Evensong ribbon: 13 inches
Bitty sparkles
Stamp set: Everlasting Life
Ink: Cranberry

(I modified the card dimensions from one featured in the Pear & Partridge WOTG kit.)

Have a great new month, keep praying for rain for all of us in the Midwest, and happy scrappin'! I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. I'd better be careful what I wish for! (I'll change my wish to a Caribbean cruise, how's that?)
