Shadow Shot Sunday

My DH and I spent Saturday afternoon at Lone Elk Park, a nature preserve for elk, deer, and bison. We had a light snowfall during the night, and the sun was bright for an afternoon drive. Finally, some sunshine! Thank You, God! It seemed even the four legged animals were happy to be in sunshine.

The day was so peaceful. The sky was brilliant blue like warm Caribbean waters. We saw herds of bison, small groups of elk, one lone elk on his high hill watching his harem, and a few deer finding grasses to eat as they soaked up the Vitamin D.

This was my favorite shot of the day. I love how the fence shadows meander and draw your eye from the front to the back of the scene. And did you notice the heart shape nature made in the snow at the base of one tree?

This looks so serene and I'd love to be somewhere like that right now. It's a beautiful photo and yes I do see the heart shape. Not until you had pointed it out though. Didn't have my goggles on :)

Good morning Jane! Yes, this is a special shot - absolutely LOVE the fence and the shadows. The heart - I probably wouldn't have seen without your help - thank you for teaching me to look carefully at photos - I'm truly grateful for your "Shadow Shot Sundays"!!

Hugs!

The sky of blue surrounds a warm sun. The shadows of the trees is an icy blue hue. The shade of a summer tree full of leaves would never leave a shadow to remember - bare trees set over snow would!

This snowy scene looks tranquil indeed.
I like the way the fence leads the eye further back into the landscape.

I also saw the heart, but not until I made the photo bigger. Thanks for pointing it out.

Happy shadow seeking!

lovely shot - not dissimilar to the scene here although more hard frost than snow now.

The first thing we noticed was how your just wanted to start walking by that fence...all the way down to the end of - of where that fence ends of course!!
We didn't even notice the heart - glad you mentioned it Jane!
Have a great week ahead!
